Congratulations to the runners that competed in the 2012 New England Junior Olympic XC Championships.  Gunnar Shonbeck, Naomi Besson, Jon Allard, Dan Rodden, Tim Greenwood, Marcus Marden, Sam Hoffman, Owen Fauth, Andrew Derry, Wyatt Ferrando, Thomas Pitts, Spencer Pitts, and Matt Freitas represented the Elm City Track Club.

Andrew Derry and Jon Allard both qualified for the Region 1 meet in New York by placing 11th and 5th respectively.  The 'Midget' boys team placed 6th out of 11 teams. 

2012 Junior Olympics

16 Youth Athletes competed for the Elm City Track Club at the New England Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships on Saturday, June 23^rd. 

Age division winners and runner-ups were:

Naomi Besson – Tied for 1^st in the high-jump

Noah Kress – 1^st in the long-jump

Tim Salamin – 2^nd in the Shot Put, 2^nd in the Discus

Other standout performances included:

Jaheim Lancaster – 14^th in the 200, 8^th in the 100, 8^th in the long-jump

Noah Kress – 3^rd in the 100, 7^th in the 800

Thomas Pitts – 4^th in the long-jump, 6^th in the 100

Spencer Pitts – 13^th in the 200, 11^th in the long-jump

Wyatt Ferrando – 12^th in the 200, 8^th in the 400

Adam Minahan – 11^th in the 400

Claire O’Connor – 13^th in the 100, 17^th in the 200

James West – 11^th in the 800, 12^th in the discus

Emma Cagney – 8^th in the 800

Reena Dalwadi – 8^th in the 400, 9^th in the long-jump

Sara Stillings – 13^th in the 400

Caitlin Swiger – 7^th in the 400, 13^th in the long-jump

Jett Giza -  5^th in the 1500, 9^th in the 800

Gunnar Shonbeck – 9^th in the 400, 17^th in the 200
